Sign up for Club Night is required just prior to the start of racing on the night
What is Club night?
Abbotsleigh Swim Club plans to run club nights generally at least 1-2 times per term. Club night is:
- For swimmers to have fun with your friends and team!
- To provide swimmers an opportunity to experience friendly competition in an relaxed environment
- To provide parents with an opportunity to socialise with other parents in an informal and fun atmosphere.
- To provide race practice for swimmers wanting to progress to competition meets, as well as opportunities to qualify for higher level external meets, if desired.
All club nights are generally timed to reflect a swimmer’s progress against their personal bests, but with some nights also qualifying as official timed meets to allow swimmers to use these times for other competition meets.
How can you help with Club night?
In order for Club nights to be successful to achieve the above objectives, we need volunteers from swimmers’ parents so that we can help support the swimmers to progress.
Generally we need help in timekeeping, officials and meet manager operators.
For official timed meets, the Swim Club will source appropriate Technical Officials (Referee, Starter etc.) to ensure that these can support swimmers to have competition qualifying times.
Please speak with a Coach if you are able to assist or just step up and volunteer on the night. If all parents are prepared to help, we will have an efficient and great Club night.
Swimmers and parents may be rostered for duty so that we can efficiently run Club Night activities and races, so that we can ensure the best opportunities for our swimmers.
When is Club night?
Club nights are held during NSW public schools term time. Upcoming dates appear in the club website calendar.
When to arrive ?
Most swimmers should have a warm up with the first race starting around 5:30pm. The races will normally last between 60 – 90 minutes.
