Noosa Tuesday

Tuesday the 3rd October began wonderfully cloudy as out team prepared for a challenging swim session. After downing a few too many Anzac Cookies we all smashed out some fast swimming followed by an equally enthusiastic breakfast. Then as the sun began to show, our guns began to peak in a gym session run by Cam. We slip, slop, slapped to protect our soft Sydney skin and ran down to the beach where many of us were swept off our feet down the shoreline. Alas, many of us still got burnt but that did not stop us in the pool where Gubbi Gubbi dominated in an underwater car game. But the highlight of the day was MUSIC BINGO where unknown talents some and Gubbi Gubbi once again moved from underdogs to victors!! What a day!! # Gubbi Gubbi#Greatly Unified, Beautifully Bonded Individuals.

Noosa Monday

Today at 6 o’clock we woke up to some bad weather and headed off to morning training which included 20 x 50m Butterfly!! We came home to big breakfast which included yummy bacon and egg rolls. We were then assigned our tribe teams which were named after local Aboriginal tribes; Purple – Badtjala; Green – Gubbi Gubbi and Red – Waka Waka. We did a warm-up tribe activity which Badtjala won. After some down time in our rooms we headed off to a yoga session at the leisure centre. At yoga, the majority of the swimmers fell asleep during the relaxation period at the end (we had to wake Maddie up!!). Then off to training once again during the pouring rain. Badtjala dominated the team challenges. After training we came back home to some lasagne and pasta followed by some ice cream cones. We are now excited to start the trivia night!

We’re 4th in NSW again!

Abbotsleigh Swim Club has once again been placed 4th in NSW in the prestigious point score table.

Calculated from points accrued by swimmers at all State competitions (summer, winter, 13O, 12U & Open) we held our own compared with clubs significantly larger than us. This is the second year running that we have been placed 4th in the State.

Club President Chris Yeats commented “This is a fantastic result”.
