As promised following the parent forum I have organised a nutritionist by the name of Brad Pamp to come and speak to the swimmers on the following topics;

1. What to eat the week of taper for a big multi day meet.
2. What to eat the night before any meet – 1 day meet up to a 7 day meet.
2. What to eat at the meet – including multi race and multi day meets.
3. General Importance of food for fuel and recovery as an athlete to get through each season

Brad comes highly recommended by numerous athletes including our very own (Olympic swimmer) and club president – Chris Fydler. I have spoken briefly with Brad and we are very much on the same page when it comes to sport nutrition. Brad does not assume every kid in the room should eat out of the same box – so to speak and thus covers the various difference’s in body responses to food in his talk.

He is very aware of the recent food trends and will offer a careful, balanced, professional and personal approach to what the swimmers should be eating on given occasions.

All 3 competitive squads will be invited however as the age groups are so broad I have asked Brad to address the 12-18 year olds (although the info relates to all age groups). If your child is younger, you will definitely need to be there in case your youngster is unable to take in all the info.

Please come along with pen and paper to take the notes you feel will help you feed your athlete the best.
