Noosa Camp Day 2 – First Beach session

Day 2 started bright and early with a 6am wake up call allowing time for a quick snack before boarding the buses at 6:20am to the pool.  A beautiful, clear morning for the team and a slightly different session this morning. Our resident Olympian/Bus Driver – Chris Fydler, took the team on a “freestyle turning skills” session for an hour followed by skills on the other strokes by Brandon and Raf. Streamlining, breakouts, and turn approaches were all practiced and reinforced during the session and the practicing of good skills, will be a continuing theme this week.

Water Warriors for the session were: Jaimey, Rani and Maddie – well done girls.

Teams were announced last night and the first team activity – the naming and flag making took place.  The 5 Teams this year and their members are:

Jess then took the team for the first beach dry land session, a short 200m walk from our accommodations. – Hard work despite the location and perfect weather.  Might be a few sore muscles tomorrow, but of course – “No Complaino”.

Supercoach Speechley joined the team just before the afternoon session, straight from the National Talent Identification Camp in Canberra. The session focussed on body position in the water for all the team as we dodged another big storm just as we finished.

Water Warriors this afternoon were: Shaun, Georgia P, Katie Mc for being highly engaged in learning new skills.

Looking forward to more fun tomorrow.
